Hotel Amálka is situated in the tourist region Podripsko, dominated by the memorable hill Rip. In the vicinity of the hotel, there is a lot of historical, cultural and natural landmarks that are worth visiting.
Hill Rip with the Chapel St. George
The memorable hill Rip, located 5 km away from the hotel, is a perfect destination for the hiking. Take a pleasant walk along the tourist marked trail to the summit at the altitude of 456 meters, which will enchant you with views of the Czech Central Mountains. From April to October, you can visit there the Chapel of St. George - one of the oldest preserved buildings in the Czech Republic. The tour of Chapel takes approximately 30 minutes.
Roudnice nad Labem
The dominant of the town Roudnice nad Labem is the Roudnice castle, a Baroque building that was rebuilt from an original stone castle. Museum of region Podripsko is located on the main square of Roudnice, the Capuchin monastery and other historical parts of the town are also worth seeing. There are interesting cultural events held in the town, such as Roudnicka kost or Roudnicke vinobrani.
The Elbe Trail leads from the Podripsko region through the Czech Central Mountains to the Bohemian Switzerland and is an ideal place for hiking and cycling. The trail along the river Elbe offers natural beauty, historical monuments as well as sporting and cultural activities.
Podripsko motor train
Historic train crisscrosses landscape under the hill Rip and its route partly leads also through already canceled track where an educational trail was installed. Tourist line is operated on the route Roudnice nad Labem - Straskov - Msene Lazne - Budyne nad Ohri - Libochovice from 1.4. till 29.10.2017 on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. Motor train stops in Straskov, 900 meters from the hotel (approximately 11 minutes by walk).
The Chateau Veltrusy is located 20 km away from the hotel Amalka (about 30 minutes by car). Visitors can choose from classic tour circuits of chateau premises as well as unconventional adventure tours, for example a horse-drawn carriage or cycling tour. The chateau park is also worth visiting.
The Terezin Memorial offers various exhibitions to commemorate the victims of Nazi persecution in the fortress town of Terezin, 23 km (22 minutes by car) away from the Hotel Amálka. There it is possible to visit the exhibition in the Small Fortress, the Ghetto Museum and the Magdeburg barracks, the crematorium and others.
Royal town Litomerice is located 30 km (25 minutes by car) away from the Hotel Amalka. There is Ghotic castle in the historic center of the town. The Cathedral of St. Stephen, the oldest townhouse Gothic Twin, the Memorial of Karel Hynek Macha and many galleries belong among the other tourist atractions.
The dominant of town Melnik situated above the confluence of rivers Elbe and Vltava is the Chateau Melnik, the seat of the Lobkowicz. Around the Chateau there are vineyards, historic center and a beautiful view to the confluence and the whole region. It is also possible to visit in the town the chateau wine cellars, the ossuary under the Church of St. Peter and Paul and a city underground. It is located 21 km away from Hotel Amálka (27 minutes by car).
